Follow a specification-led order
Start with a contractor's item list. Match each requested specification to a product code, quote it, confirm availability and deliver the agreed item. Include one unavailable item and decide who may approve an alternative. Ask whether the order and delivery documents preserve the specification that mattered to the customer.
Keep catalogue data usable
Define manufacturer, rating, size, unit and alternative product relationships before import. Eliminate duplicate codes and ambiguous descriptions. If cable is bought and sold in different units or cut lengths, test measurement and residual stock on the exact release.
Make the handoff visible
