Lot Tracking
Lot tracking groups units produced or received together under a shared identifier. It can support expiry checks, quality investigation and recall tracing where the process and records are correctly configured.
A worked example
A practical example to make the concept clear.
| Step | Illustrative record and result |
|---|---|
| Starting record | Receive 100 units under example lot LOT-DEMO-26. |
| Change or calculation | Delivery A takes 30 units from this lot; delivery B takes 20. The lot has 50 units left. |
| Meaning and exception | A quality question about this lot points to both deliveries and the remaining 50 units. Record customer and location links; this is not regulated recall certification. |
Why it matters
Follow one lot from supplier receipt to each customer delivery and test a recall question. Basic Datrylo stock movements do not certify regulated lot traceability.
