Field Service Handover Checklist
A field-service handover should let the next person understand the customer, asset, work performed and unresolved issue.
Hand over the asset, parts and unresolved fault
Example handover record; mobile dispatch, customer signature capture and contract billing require their separately validated scope.
| Record / decision | Filled example and next owner |
|---|---|
| Asset / work | VIS-01: Demo pump P-01 at site A; technician tests pressure and replaces seal. Source references: customer order and visit task. |
| Parts / sign-off | Issue1 seal, return0; record stock move reference. Customer representative acknowledges completed work and receives the report. |
| Open issue / next owner | Vibration remains outside agreed tolerance. Service supervisor owns investigation and retest date; no complete acceptance until the decision is recorded. |
Use this worksheet to organise your requirements, assign owners and plan the next steps.
Put it into practice
Record site, equipment identifier, fault, parts used, safety notes, photos with consent, customer acceptance and follow-up date. Test a job where a technician cannot finish or needs additional approval. Decide which information may be shared externally.
Put the right controls in place
Field Service is absent from Datrylo's approved app matrix. Use this as an evaluation checklist; CRM, Project and Inventory alone do not deliver a verified mobile work order.
Use this guide with the people who own the process. Agree responsibilities, prepare the necessary records and turn the next steps into a working plan. Get help with your implementation.
