ERP vs separate business applications
A set of specialist tools can be sensible when each team has a narrow, stable process and integrations reliably preserve a common customer, product and transaction identity. ERP can simplify coordination when handoffs and shared controls matter more than a specialist feature in any one tool.
A decision worksheet to reuse
Adapt this buying checklist to your team, priorities and budget.
| Decision field | Worked example and evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Separate-tool handoff | Example order DEMO-ORDER-14 for 10 kits starts in a CRM note, is retyped in a stock sheet, then is retyped for invoicing. Assign an owner to reconcile the three references. |
| Connected record flow | Use the order reference on a 6-kit delivery and retain 4 outstanding. Finance follows the same customer/order/delivery links under the agreed billing rule. |
| Ownership and integration | Record the source of truth, responsible team and correction process for customer, quantity and price. An integrated suite still needs a process owner; separate tools need a reliable agreed exchange. |
| Evidence to compare | Time the same normal and exception tasks with ordinary users and retain linked records and correction effort. This exercise contains no measured Datrylo time saving or ROI claim. |
Count the interfaces you must own
Map data fields, ownership and update direction for customer, item, price, tax, order and payment records. Add failure handling, monitoring, consent, access and release-change costs to the licence comparison. An integration that works for new orders but cannot correct a cancelled order is incomplete.
Datrylo has a commercial interest in integrated software and its own integration boundaries need testing. Its approved workflows can be demonstrated; unsupported applications should remain explicit gaps. Compare your existing stack with Datrylo using a normal flow and an exception, then price both over the same term. Map application needs and review integration planning.
