| Record / decision | Filled example and next owner |
|---|---|
| Cutover record | CUT-01:source freeze agreed by operations;final export dated by data owner;finance balances and stock quantities must match before decision. |
| Hold / reversal condition | Trial10 ordered/6 delivered/4 due;target loses remaining4. Business owner stops acceptance and assigns correction/retest rather than letting both systems transact. |

Use this worksheet to organise your requirements, assign owners and plan the next steps.
Define the sequence
Set the final source-entry deadline, export, import, reconciliation and user acceptance windows. Name the owner of each step and the evidence required to proceed. Decide how late orders, receipts and payments are captured. Keep outbound mail, payment callbacks and scheduled external actions neutralized in test copies.
Choose a decision point
Before users start live work, compare the agreed counts and totals, test a representative sale or service process, and check permissions. State who may approve go-live and what mismatch triggers rollback. After live transactions begin, rollback becomes a business decision about preserving or replaying new work, not simply restoring a database snapshot.
Rehearse recovery
Take and verify source and target backups, test restore access and time the steps. Document how users will be told which system is authoritative. Preserve logs and exceptions for review. Review a cutover plan.
