Move from spreadsheets to Datrylo
Spreadsheets often carry years of useful business knowledge alongside duplicates, free-text exceptions and calculations known only to one person. A good migration preserves the meaning of the data while replacing fragile handoffs with an agreed process. Identify the real sources
List every workbook used for customers, suppliers, products, stock, orders and balances. Record the owner, update frequency and which file is authoritative. Separate formulas that calculate values from fields that should become transaction records. Freeze copies before cleansing so changes can be traced.
Build a small import sample
Choose rows with missing values, duplicates, multiple units and unusual characters. Define required fields and stable IDs. Import a sample, then follow one customer through an order and one product through receipt and delivery. Odoo's import/export documentation describes the underlying mechanism; it does not clean the data for you.
Reconcile before switching
Compare customer and product counts, open orders, stock by location and approved opening balances. Keep an exceptions file with owners and decisions. The first live day should have a clear support contact and rollback decision point. Plan a spreadsheet migration.
