Prepare your team for a confident ERP launch
Training works best when people practise the tasks they will own. Build a short, role-based programme around ordinary work, exceptions and the handoff to the next person.
Train the role on a complete handoff
Example training plan; completing the exercise is not certification or partner approval. Use ordinary roles and the agreed business scenario.
| Record / decision | Filled example and next owner |
|---|---|
| Sales practice | User A creates the quote and confirms a changed delivery address before acceptance; training output is the reviewed quote reference. |
| Warehouse practice | User B delivers6 of10 and explains the remaining4. Trainer checks actual permissions, unit and source record. |
| Evidence / unresolved task | Each trainee records one successful and one denied action, evidence and next owner. Rehearse again where a spreadsheet workaround remains. |
Use this worksheet to organise your requirements, assign owners and plan the next steps.
1. Give every process an owner
Name one owner for sales, purchasing, stock and finance. Assign someone to maintain shared customer and product data, and identify the person who decides disputed rules. Publish a simple support route so users know where to raise a blocked order or an incorrect balance.
2. Practise a complete handoff
Use an example customer buying five items. Sales prepares the quotation; the warehouse checks availability and prepares delivery; finance reviews the invoice. Each person should know which information they receive and what the next person needs. Repeat with one exception, such as insufficient stock or a changed delivery address.
Train with accounts that match real roles. An administrator completing the exercise does not show that a salesperson or storekeeper has the right access. Use the interface language your team will use, and agree the terms on customer-facing documents.
3. Keep a small readiness record
For each launch-critical task, record: role; task; person trained; practice date; result; unresolved question; owner; due date. A useful result is specific: “can find the customer and prepare a quotation without help,” rather than “attended training.”
4. Plan the first week
- Give each shift a named person for first-line support.
- Share a one-page guide to the most common tasks.
- Review issues daily and separate training questions from data or configuration problems.
- Record any changed rule once and share it with all affected roles.
- Revisit incomplete tasks before expanding the rollout.
Make learning part of the implementation
Datrylo brings departments into a connected workflow. Use implementation sessions to agree responsibilities, access and practical examples, then let each team repeat the work. A short follow-up after launch helps turn recurring questions into better instructions.
